There are several reasons why a computer runs slower than you'd like, and we'd have to take a look to find out:

If your computer runs Windows XP and has less than 512 MB of memory, you could need more memory. Windows Vista, 7 & 8 should have 4 GB or more of memory.
A common culprit is a virus or an "uninvited guest" that tags along when music or games are downloaded. A website you visited may have been infected or an infected e-mail may have gotten through.
The hard drive could be nearly full or failing.
Your computer needs a thorough cleaning.
Your Web-browsing speed could also be the fault of your internet service provider--not your computer.

Just like cars, every year computers get smaller, sleeker and better-looking--but that's not the best reason to buy a new one. The truth is, if you're happy, then don't worry about a new one yet. You don't need a high-speed, high-power computer to run MS Word, Quicken or iTunes. However, if your interests lean toward photo editing and archiving, video editing or advanced gaming, then you're going to need more power and more options.

What Internet service should I use?

If cash flow is an issue, then DSL is a good bet ($14.95 - $30 per month). If you're willing to pay extra for speed, then your local cable company's broadband service could be the option for you (typically $30 - $50 per month). Note that prices vary by region and service. Cable internet service tends to be faster that DSL from the phone company.

Does my computer need a lot of memory?

An average user with Windows XP will need 1 - 2 GB . Windows Vista, 7 & 8 need 3 GB but 4+ GB is best. There three types of memory typically in use, DDR, DDR2 and DDR3. The newer the PC the higher level DDR it will be using.

Can I control what my children see?

Parental control software such as AVG Family Safety (formerly Besafe/Besecure) for $49 per year can help you. There are others available and many offer free trials.

What about home or small businesses?

We can provide support for your entire network, from connecting your fax and phone to your computer to dealing with your online service provider. Often our clients prefer that we deal with their offshore help desk service rather than trying to handle it themselves.
